Questions?
Should I register my child?
As you come in you will be directed to our TLC Kids information desk, please register your child with the staff at this desk. We ask that you do this every week as you come in with your child, you’ll be met with a smile and your little one will be given a name badge (sticker). To keep the children safe we’ll also ask you to sign them into and out of Little Gems and Mega Stars.
We are expecting a baby! Do we do anything?
Yes! Please tell one of the pastors or the people at the Children’s Information Desk. We like to visit expectant mums before the birth, to pray for you and to visit you as a family afterwards.
What if my baby cries during the main meeting?
Well, your baby will cry at some point! If the volume is such that others will be distracted, feel free to use the Baby Cafe. A nice steward will tell you where to go.
Can I feed my baby in the main meeting?
By all means, we would just ask that you be discreet when breastfeeding.
What about dedication?
We would love to dedicate your baby/child to God. We do this as a simple part of our main meeting. If you would like to have your child dedicated, please leave your details at the children’s info desk and we will arrange for a pastor to visit you to talk about it.
Can my children take communion?
There are different views about this. As a church, we are very happy for you to share the bread and cup with your children, but would recommend that you explain the significance of it to them. Ask for advice from the Children’s Team if you want to, or a TLC Leader.
What if my child has special needs?
All children are welcome at TLC, and we will do our very best to ensure that they get any special help or care they may need to enable them to take a full part in what we do. We also want to support you as parents. Please help us by giving us as much information as possible when you register your child. Also, let us know if your child has any special dietary requirements or allergies.
I parent alone.
We have some special support available for you. Please speak to the Children’s Information Desk or a pastor and we will contact you.
Who will look after/teach my child?
We aim for all our children’s workers to be CRB checked. We also have a clear Safeguarding Children Policy, which you are welcome to look at on request. We are very proud of our team, and truly believe that they are a specially selected and amazing bunch of people.
We look forward to getting to know you and your child/children and to share with you in the task of helping them to encounter Jesus.
