Shhh!..Secrets

Can you keep a secret? The Bible says quite a bit about secrets…
Paul said he had learned ‘the secret of being content.’ (Philippians 4:12).
So, let’s start there…whether this summer, you are bound for a five star Caribbean cruise, or are simply hoping for a few extra sunny hours in your back yard or on a park bench, let’s learn to be content. The Father is with us, and that is enough.
Jesus put great emphasis in his teaching on things done in secret and on the ‘Secret Place.’ His desire was for his followers to get alone with their Father, as he did regularly, and discover his treasures, his rewards:
‘When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen (some translations read, ‘who is in secret’), and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.’ (Matthew 6:6).
Do you want to know the secret of contentment, success, fruitfulness, real rest and relaxation, great relationships?
I could list a whole lot of do’s and don’ts, but there is one big key…taking some time to get into the Secret Place with your Heavenly Father. No formulas, no seven step plan to success…just find an alone time, a quiet room, go for a walk, sit in the garden, park, or even in your car. Keep your Bible and your spirit open. Ask your waiting, compassionate, forgiving, accepting and extremely affectionate Dad to come to you, to speak to you. And He will. His rewards are rich.
If you want a little help with this, why not use the TLC Summer Retreat materials, available soon?
So, have a superb summer! Enjoy your family and give them time, invite a few friends for a meal, do something you have never done before, read a good book, live the full, quality life Jesus died for you to have…
Most of all, remember…The Father loves you!
Love,
