Compassion is at the very heart of God and the very heart of TLC. The challenge of Isaiah 58 and Matthew 25:31-40 mean that loving and serving the poor in our own city is something we feel deeply called to as a church.

Through our compassion charity Open Hands Trust, we are privileged to show the love and compassion of Jesus to some of the most vulnerable people in our city.

The Open Hands Compassion Centre, an old converted garage based in Highfields, is a place in which people are offered free clothes, food, household items and furniture alongside a listening ear, prayer and support.

We have a fantastic team of volunteers who serve with passion in the sessions, meal, skills groups and all of our projects. Our heart is to treat each person we meet as if they are royalty.
